MAAC Project Head Start (located at the North Coast United Methodist Church)

IF IT RAINS ON COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, this project will still take place.

Community Serve Day has been partnering with the Head Start program since the 1st Community Serve Day. Throughout the years, we have built a relationship and appreciate all the projects we have been able to accomplish.

This year's Community Serve Day, we have various projects planned to enhance our preschool. We will build a gazebo for children, paint the exterior of the building, add plexiglass mirrors to the children's stage, sand and varnish the classroom tables, and power wash the playground. One of the most important things is the health and safety of our children, so we will disinfect and sanitize all classroom materials and toys, shampoo the classroom area rugs,

The minimum age is 8.

Head Start is a federally funded program for low-income and special needs children. Parents need to be working or enrolled in school to qualify and meet the poverty guidelines. North Coast Head Start serves 60 children ages 3-5. Since they are a full-time preschool they don’t have days to fully devote to a cleanup day which is desperately needed and are very appreciative of the help.

Dress for a morning outside and in the sunshine – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, pants that you can get dirty, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes. Don't forget to bring some water!
